Product description

The Fescon Non-sag Filler is a cement-based, polymer-modified, fibre-reinforced dry mortar with additives, designed for concrete surfaces. The maximum grain size is 1.2 mm.

  • easy to use
  • slow carbonation
  • good workability characteristics
  • good grip on the base
  • spread with a trowel
  • frost-resistant

Applications

  • repair of deep holes in concrete structures both indoors and outdoors
  • shaping and repair of corners
  • repairs where the plaster needs to be non-sagging

Instructions

Refer to the bag for how much water the plaster requires. Add the dry material to the water and mix with a concrete mixer for around ten minutes. With a power mixer or a drill paddle, around one to two minutes of mixing is sufficient. Let the plaster stand for around ten minutes and mix it again for a short while. Find the correct consistency at this stage by gradually adding the rest of the water. We do not recommend adding all of the water right at the start. The finished plaster remains workable for around two hours.

Remove damaged concrete, for example by chiselling or brushing with a steel brush. Shape the cavities and clean any rusted reinforcement bars or, if necessary, replace them with new ones. Clean the base of loose dust and dirt, for example by pressure washing. Roughen any smooth surfaces. The surface must be undamaged, clean and damp enough to be darker in colour before the repair work begins. The best time to wet the surface is the previous night.

Apply one or two layers of Fescon Adhesive Plaster to the cleaned reinforcement bars. Spread the non-sag filler with, for example, a trowel on an undamaged, clean concrete surface that is damp enough to be darker. Apply large layer thicknesses (over 50 mm) in several layers. With difficult bases, ensure adhesion using Fescon Adhesive Plaster. Allow the layers to harden until the next day before applying a new layer. In order to improve adhesion, leave the surface of the lower fill layers rough. Level and shape the surface as required. Remove extraneous plaster with sharp-edged tools. You should always carry out the finishing very carefully in order not to reduce adhesion to the base. The working temperature must be at least +5°C.

You must care for the repaired area by spraying with water and/or protecting it with a plastic film. The need for aftercare depends on the conditions. It should continue for at least one to three days.

Waste handling

Hardened product and empty, dry packages can be delivered to a landfill. A liquid product must be delivered to a hazardous waste reception point.
