Mix the paint carefully before painting. When priming, the paint can be thinned with 5-10% water, if necessary.
Remove old coatings and paint, for example by water sand blasting. Also roughen the new concrete surfaces and clean them of cement paste, for example by water sand washing or steel brushing. New concrete surfaces can be painted after a minimum of one heating season The water sand blasted surfaces must be overlevelled with a suitable Fescon plaster. Remove damaged concrete by chiselling, water sand blasting or milling, depending on the type and extent of the damage. Shape the cavities and clean any rusted reinforcement bars to grade St 2 or replace them with new ones. Apply Fescon Adhesive Plaster on the rebars and repair holes with Fescon Repairing Plaster. Overlevel the repaired surfaces.
Before beginning work, carry out a test painting to ensure the correct tint. Paint twice using a sprayer or a roller. The base must be dry, the air temperature must be at least +5°C and the relative humidity no more than 80%. Continuous surfaces must be treated in one go. You should reserve enough paint to be able to paint continuous surfaces with paint from the same manufacturing batch. You should hide the working seams in corners, expansion joints or for instance behind drainpipes. After the paint has dried enough to feel dry to the touch, you can paint the second layer. Clean tools with water.
A dirty surface treated with Fescon Protective Paint can be cleaned with a pressure washer. Remove any damaged spots and repair the holes. Repaint with Fescon Protective Paint. One treatment is normally sufficient for a cleaned, undamaged surface. Two or more treatments are needed for damaged areas from where the coating has been removed or holes have been patched.
Waste handling
Hardened product and empty, dry packages can be delivered to a landfill. A liquid product must be delivered to a hazardous waste reception point.
