The base must be solid, clean and dry, and it must not have grease, wax, silicone or dust or any layers that reduce adhesion. Allow new mineral plasters sufficient time to bond in accordance with the plastering technique rules. The minimum bonding time is two days/mm of plaster (guideline value). We recommend one application of Fescon Silicate Primer on all bases.
Before beginning work, carry out a test painting to ensure the correct tint.
Apply one base and intermediate coat using Fescon Silicate Façade Paint thinned with max. 15% Fescon Silicate Primer. Apply one or two top coats using unthinned Fescon Silicate Façade Paint. With spray application, maximum thinning is 5%. Apply the paint with a brush, roller or airless sprayer with a nozzle size of 0.031" and sprayer pressure 150 bar. The base must be dry. During painting and drying, air temperature must be at least + 8°C and the relative humidity no more than 80%. The surface can be repainted after around 12 hours and it will dry through in around four to five days. Clean tools with water immediately after use.
A dirty surface treated with Fescon Silicate Façade Paint can be cleaned with a pressure washer. Remove any damaged spots and repair the holes. Repaint with Fescon Silicate Façade Paint. One treatment is sufficient for a cleaned, undamaged surface. Base coating is also needed for damaged areas from where the paint has been removed or holes have been patched.
