Fescotop FTH Hardener

Base

• The substrate and ambient temperature must be between +10°C…+25°C
• The substrate must be clean and free from dust
• Loose layers and other contaminants, such as oils, paints, and curing compounds, must be removed mechanically or chemically to ensure proper adhesion between the product and the substrate.

Priming

• The substrate should be pre-moistened to a matt damp condition in particularly hot and/or windy weather. No standing water should remain on the surface to be treated.

Mixing and Application

• Plan the size of the areas to be treated and the working sequence to avoid cold joints. Movement joints in the floor can be used as natural boundaries.
• The product is used directly from the container and does not require mixing before use.
• Do not dilute the product.
• The working area must be protected from strong wind, sunlight, and rain.
• Apply the product to the concrete surface using a low-pressure sprayer or by pouring it directly from the container.
• Brush the product into the substrate to ensure it penetrates and fills the pores of the concrete surface.
• Level the product to an even surface using a rubber squeegee.
• Allow the product to “gel” and thicken for approximately 30–60 minutes. The treated concrete surface must be kept wet during this time — add more product if necessary to maintain a wet surface.
• The product must not be allowed to dry on the surface.
• When the product begins to thicken and gel on the surface, lightly spray clean water to dissolve the thickened layer and move any excess product to the adjacent area.
• Remove excess product with a rubber squeegee to the next section to be treated.
• Do not walk on already treated surfaces, as this will leave marks.
• If excess product is allowed to dry on the concrete surface, a white residue may form, which can only be removed mechanically, e.g., by sandblasting or grinding.
• At the end of the work, remove all excess product from the concrete surface.

Maintenance

• For cleaning the floor surface, a floor care machine is recommended, as it also polishes the treated surface further.
• Use mild detergents; do not use corrosive cleaning agents.
• Clean stains or oil residues from the floor surface as quickly as possible.

Other information

• A floor surface treated with Fescotop FTH Hardener is not recommended to be waxed or treated with any other products.
