Base

Remove damaged coating and damaged concrete, for example by chiselling, milling or water sand blasting. Uncover any rusted reinforcements and clean them to grade St 2 or, if necessary, replace them with new ones. Apply one or two layers of Fescon Adhesive Plaster to the cleaned reinforcement bars. Repair cavities using Fescon Repairing Plasters. Clean the base of loose dust and dirt, for example by pressure washing. The surface must be damp enough to be darker in colour before grade correction work begins. The best time to wet the surface is the previous night.

Mixing

Refer to the bag for how much water the plaster requires. Add the dry material to the water and mix with a concrete mixer for around ten minutes. With a power mixer or a drill paddle, around one to two minutes of mixing is sufficient. Allow the plaster to stand for around ten minutes and mix it again for a short while. Find the correct consistency at this stage by gradually adding the rest of the water. We do not recommend adding all of the water right at the start. The finished plaster remains workable for around one hour.

Work instructions

Spread the Repairing Plaster 40 over the base and shape the grading with a steel trowel, for example. The recommended thickness of one fill is 2-15 mm. Do larger fills in layers so that you allow the lower layer dry until the next day before applying a new layer. If necessary, dampen the surface before spreading the plaster. Depending on the working conditions and layer thickness, finish the surface after 30-60 minutes of spreading the plaster with a wooden float or a steel trowel. In order to ensure the adhesion of the repairing plaster, we recommend using Fescon Adhesive Plaster. Apply the repairing plaster before the Adhesive Plaster has dried, or after the Adhesive Plaster has fully dried (1-2 days depending on the conditions).

After treatment

Keep the plaster surface damp by spraying it with water and covering it with a plastic film for at least two days. The need for aftercare depends on the conditions. Begin aftercare when the plaster is dry to the touch.
