Tile adhesive plasteri RSL Rapid

Base 

• The substrate may be Fescon waterproofing, concrete, lightweight concrete, cement-based leveling compound, or a suitable construction board.
• The substrate must be clean, dust-free, solid, and stable.
• Loose layers, cement laitance, and other impurities must be removed mechanically to ensure proper adhesion between the product and the substrate.
• The substrate and ambient temperature must be between +10°C…+25°C, and the relative humidity below 90% RH.
• Underfloor heating must be switched off 2 days before waterproofing.
• Uneven floors must be leveled with Fescon floor leveling compounds, and walls with Fescon Levelling compound for wet areas WTT.

Priming

• When tiling over a waterproofing membrane, no separate priming is required.
• For highly absorbent or very dry substrates, a primer treatment is recommended using a mixing ratio of 1 part Fescon Primer KP to 5 parts water.

Mixing and Application

• The working area must be fully protected from wind, drafts, sunlight, and rain.
• One bag (20 kg) of adhesive is mixed with 6 liters of cold water.
• Do not overdose water, as this will prolong the drying time of the adhesive and weaken its strength.
• Mix to a uniform consistency using a power drill with a paddle mixer. Mixing time approx. 1.5 minutes.
• Apply the adhesive to the substrate with firm pressure and comb it open.
• Apply only as large an area as can be tiled while the adhesive is still fresh. This ensures sufficient adhesion (wall tiles 70–75% coverage, floor tiles 80–90% coverage).
• Working time approx. 15–20 minutes from water addition.
• Clean tools immediately after use with water.
• The time for the tiled floor to be taken into use is determined on-site together with the tiling contractor.

Finishing

• Tiles fixed with Tile adhesive plasteri RSL Rapid are grouted with Fescon Tile seaming plaster SML. Expansion and corner joints are sealed with Fescon Sanitary silicone. Available in 9 color options.
• Grouting can be performed, depending on the substrate and site conditions, approximately 2 hours after wall tiling and 4 hours after floor tiling.

Other information

• Waterproofing and tiling work must be carried out in accordance with RT guidelines and RIL instructions.
• The drying times stated in the product data sheet are based on conditions of +20°C and 50% relative humidity. Lower temperatures or higher humidity levels in the work area will extend the drying time.
• Not suitable for outdoor use or for spaces exposed to continuous water stress, such as swimming pools.
