Tuotekuvaus

The Fescon Floor compound LM 6000 is a fast-setting and fast-drying, manually applied, cement-based floor mortar to be spread in earth-moist consistency.

  • A surface that can be waterproofed in one work stage
  • For layer thicknesses 10-250 mm
  • Manually levelled
  • Fast drying
  • Special cement binder

Käyttökohteet

  • Concrete floor castings, filling, leveling and sloping applications for indoor use
  • In wet rooms, beneath waterproofing
  • Surface screeds, underfloor heating floors
  • Castings where the structure must be put into use quickly
  • Can be used in floating, reinforced floors (e.g. mesh #150 Ø 5 mm). In such cases, the minimum thickness is 50 mm

Base

  • Concrete substrate, wood- and gypsum-based boards, insulation board
  • The substrate must be clean, solid, and dust-free, and it must be vacuumed.
  • Loose layers, cement laitance, and other impurities must be removed mechanically to ensure proper adhesion between the floor mortar and the substrate.
  • The substrate must be sufficiently strong, stable, and load-bearing.
  • The floor must be constructed as a floating, reinforced structure if the substrate is weak concrete (tensile strength < 0.5 MPa), wood, or insulation. The floating floor structure must be separated from the subfloor using Fescon Separation fabric and from vertical structures using Fescon Bordering strip.
  • The temperature of the subfloor structure must be > +10 °C and the relative humidity < 95% RH. The subfloor’s relative humidity affects the drying time of the floor screed.

Priming

  • Carry out the priming in accordance with Fescon Adhesive Promoter instructions, depending on the base
  • In renovation projects where the old concrete is very dry and absorbent, priming twice is recommended. The first priming should be done with a 1:5 dilution and the second with a 1:3 dilution of Fescon Adhesion promoter or Flow Primer.
  • For thin layers (< 50 mm), adhesion to the substrate is ensured by troweling a slurry—1 kg of Floor compound LM 6000 + 0.5 dl of Fescon Adhesion promoter + 1.5 dl of water—onto the pre-moistened surface, followed by casting using the wet-on-wet method.

Instructions for use

  • The working area must be fully protected from wind, drafts, sunlight, and rain.
  • During floor installation, the indoor temperature must be between +10°C and +25°C, and the relative humidity of the indoor air must be above 40% RH.
  • One 20 kg bag of dry powder is mixed with 1.7–2.0 litres of cold water.
  • Excess water is prohibited, as it weakens the strength properties of the floor screed, increases the risk of separation, and prolongs the drying time.
  • LM 6000 must be thoroughly mixed into a uniform mass using, for example, a power drill with a mixing paddle.
  • The mortar is spread onto the substrate, compacted carefully, and leveled with a screeding bar. The leveled surface is floated using, for example, a polyurethane float. The floated surface is then compacted by troweling with a steel trowel. Spreading, leveling, and surface finishing must be carried out in one continuous process.
  • When underfloor heating cables are used, special attention must be paid to avoiding air pockets around the cables.
  • When casting large areas with thin layers—such as when installing renovation cables—more flowable floor screeds should be used to ensure proper adhesion to the substrate.
  • Working time is approx. 0.5 hours from the addition of water.
  • Tools must be cleaned immediately after use with water.
  • Hardened material must be removed mechanically.

Covering

  • Floor compound LM 6000 can be directly waterproofed using certified products from the Fescon Waterproofing system. It can be covered with ceramic tiles, laminate, and parquet.
  • Other floor coverings require an additional skim coat using Fescon hand-applied levelling compounds, such as FlowPlan.
  • The floor mortar must not be left uncoated for more than 3 months, due to the risk of cracking and detachment.
  • Always check the moisture level of the entire floor structure before installing the final covering.
  • Favorable drying conditions for the floor mortar require a relative indoor humidity below 50% RH and a temperature above +20°C. Poor conditions will slow down the development of the mortar’s strength properties and extend the drying time.

Other considerations

  • You must nevertheless ensure that the plaster’s technical properties meet the requirements set by the floor coating manufacturer and RYL, taking into account the entire structure. The straightness of the finishing plaster is measured, if necessary, under RT guideline 14-11039.
